by the way, over here, one thing that i am still surprise about is that people still sending christmas cards to each other. even we gave christmas cards to our neighbours. we don't know their names then, but now we do. i thought this trend is not carried out anymore because of the technology (text messages and emails). however, up until now, i have not received any christmas text messages. instead, i got christmas cards.
in malaysia, the trend of giving raya cards is still going on but the amount of cards given is much less than text messages. i guess people are too busy to too the tedious work - buying the raya cards, writing, put it in the envelope, go to the post office, buying the stamp and finally posting it. as for me and my family, it is our trend to design our own raya card, print them out and give them to our friends and family. yes, i did the tedious work people. i did all te writing and posting those raya cards. i can still remember the faces of poepole whom i hand over the raya cards to them. they were surprised, but yet really happy and if i can recall what they said, "bestnya dapat kad raya! lama dah tak dapat" or "aliaa ni every year tak lupa nak kasi kad kan". alhamdulillah, i was able make them feel really happy for at least 5 seconds right? the thrill of doing all those stuff reminds me of when i was in primary school. i was the only one who gave raya cards to all of my classmates and even my friends from the other class too. it is just that this year i don't have the opportunity to do that. sorry my friends.i hope next year i could.. aminnn.
well, if the traditions are good, why not we carry them forward and teach them to our younger generations so that it will be one of our sweet memory in life. right?
