Aliaa to Perth 2016 : Day 8 : Albany - The Gap and Natural Bridge & Albany Wind Farm; Margaret River and back to Perth

Haaaa sila jangan tanya kami mandi kat mana pagi tu sebab memang tak mandi. Hahaha.

Bangun pagi tu, aku terjaga awal sekali. Itupon sebab sejuk. Aku gerakkan Shah minta onkan engine kereta sebab nak onkan heater, terus Clare pon bangun sekali. Sebelum tu, singgah Shell masa on the way ke The Gap and Natural Bridge, pergi toilet cuci muka, subuh dan tapau kopi. Fuh nasib baik ada kopi!

Kat tempat parking the Gap tu, memang kereta kami aje. So kiranya peserta pertama lah kan. Terus jalan-jalan. Sambil tunggu sunrise, sambil posing, sambil menggigil sejuk kengkadang, sambil tahan angin sejuk, sambil semualah.

bagus ada railing ni

nak elakkan orang jalan atas batu dan terjatuh ke apa, diorang buat laluan ni

sikit sikit keluar

yup, batu tu pon sejuk

tak habis-habis

masih malu malu

kalau terjun dalam air tu konfem biru sebab sejuk

malulah kita sebab tak mandi hahaha

masing-masing ada teabeg kat bawah mata

Tak sure lah berapa lama kami bersejukan sibuk posing bagai. Posing punya posing, sampai lapar. Maklumlah tadi kan minum kopi aje. So kami masuk kereta, cari cafe yang highly recommended to try di area Albany ni (google je). Kami terus ke Vancouver Street Cafe.

design rumah nya cantik-cantik

blueberry pancake & big breakfast for Shah & Clare

For me, cheese & beans on toast

Orang local sangat friendly. Neighborhood sangat aman dan tenang. Jom pindan Albany!

Selesai breakfast, kami terus ke next destination. Nak pergi tengok windmill kat tepi laut di Albany Wind Farm.

Surveyor memang macam ni. Gambar surveying mark pon nak ambil (yang warna hijau tu). Mane lah tau boleh kerja surveyor kat sini kan.

Clare pergi toilet

Besar betul Windmill dia. Memang boleh dengar bunyi bilah kipas tu berpusing.

Lepas dah ambil gambar kat windmill farm ni, sampai aje kat kereta, barulah perasan yang spotlight kiri kereta tu dah pecah. Pecahnya kat tengah pulak tu, kalau macam langgar something mestilah terkena sekali bahagian circuiting kan. Takde pulak. Mujur ambil insurance (macam yang aku ceritakan masa Day 1). Even kalau langgar kangaroo pon mestilah efek bahagian lain depan kereta tu kan.

Selesai isi minyak semua, kami teruskan perjalanan balik ke Margaret River, sebab semalam kan bila sampai aje dah gelap, tak sempat jalan-jalan. Sampai aje kat Margaret river, dah lapar. So, pergi ke Sushi Master & Dancinwok. Makan nasi, ikan with teriyaki sauce dan sushi.

Selesai makan, kami ingat nak masuk ke Maze farm kat margaret river tu. Tapi sebab tempat tu nak tutup lagi setengah jam, so rasa macam tak best nak kena cepat-cepat. So kami decide terus ke Leeuwin Estate, another vineyard & winery place yang paling tua di Margaret River tu.

original batu bata

vineyard dia besarrrrrrrr

dapat rainbow on our last night in Australia

sunset masa on the way keluar dari vineyard

Hipster betul cafe in I like. Namanya Sidekick Cafe, Margaret River

Lepas tu, kami teruskan perjalanan balik ke Perth. Sampai aje di Perth, singgah kat rumah cousin Clare kejap, diorang nak berjumpa. Sambil diorang berborak, aku pon berborak dengan Shah. Macam rasa sedih je sebab esoknya dah kena balik Malaysia.

Tapi lepas mandi, masing-masing dah kepenatan. So aku pon kemas beg aje dalam bilik, tengok tv then tidur. Esoknya bangun awal pagi sebab nak final kemas semua benda sebelum check out.

Hi Alia,

I'm planning to travel either to Perth or Sydney & Melbourne. I baca u punya last year's trip covering Perth-Sydney-Melbourne and i was kinda interested nak buat macam tu but traveling with family with 2 kids surely a bit slow.

First time ni nak bwk travel bwk family gi Australia. Have been to Melbourne in 2002 but tak jalan2 sgt. Disebabkan last year gi NZ for 14 days with its super beautiful landscapes, i don't know what to expect in Australia..hehehe

Hi Irwandy.

From my view, kat Albany better stay 1 malam, in our case kami kejar masa, kebetulan bulan May haritu gelap cepat jugak, approaching winter. Saya tak pernah ke NZ but i read that its almost the same, the journey takes time. Kalau bersama family, lagi best kalau pergi slow and steady.

From my experience, Sydney is bandar like KL, kalau nak tengok view cantik, need to go out circuit. Personally I like Melbourne the most. A bit of history, a bit of city life and sub-urbun for a peaceful time and zen. Semua berdekatan and the best this about Melbourne was the Great Ocean Road trip. Kalau ada masa, spend 2 days for that trip, memang best sangat.

I'm sure kalau jalan dengan family, the enjoyment will be different from traveling alone or with friends. Sebab we will kita akan spend lebih masa kat 1-1 tempat and will appreciate more. If you can drive also better, you can move on your own time.

You can also travel from Sydney to Melbourne, probably spend 1 week in Sydney and 1 week in Melbourne. Then boleh plan nak pergi mana and berapa lama nak spend.

Bila nak pergi tu? March is a good month to travel down under.

Hi Alia,

Thanks for your reply. True, I pun suka Melbourne over Sydney and Perth. But i guess kalau nak go for out of the city, places in Melbourne and Perth is worth exploring la kot kan.

Ok will consider your recommendation. For me, if dapat cuti for few days je, Perth is the place. Tapi tu la, orang kata dah alang2 gi Perth, lagi 2 hours++ je sampai Melbourne naik flight..hahaha..we'll see..and i mmg plan nak pegi Australia between March - May.

Anyway, most of the cafe yg u pegi tu, how much do you spend averagely for a cup of coffee and cakes/pastries ya? Nampak macam murah je.

Hi Irwandy,

Kalau naik flight, Perth - Melbourne will take about 4 hours. kalau nak explore half-half pon jugak jugak. Menarik tu. Tapi Melbourne and Sydney much closer, 2 hrs by flight.

Kalau coffee, range from AUD2 - AUD 4. Pastries lebih kurang juga. We all budget for coffee and pastries, AUD10 per day. Tapi kalau beli kopi kat petrol pump, lebih murah sebab pakai mesen. Tapi macam set burger and all, AUD10 average per meal. Big portion, confirm kenyang. Kalau dalam town, takde masalah. Tapi yang pergi out circuit tu yang kena bawa bekal sebab from 1 place to another, jauh and ada pekan koboi aje, choice of food tak banyak.

I'm planning to go to New Zealand next year. Any tips? We are planning to go for 2 weeks and covering both north and south island.

Hai Alia.

I nak tanya pasal Albany. You naik Perth city lalu Margeret River balik kan. I google maps dia suggest guna Albany hgwy takes around 4hr ++. How long it takes ya route yang you ni. Btw Alia I went to NZ south only masa you pergi Perth ni. I cover south 9 days still x cukup. Better if you nak cover south n north you letak la 3 weeks. Hehe

@Izzati Ali hi izzati. yup, i plan nak pergi 2 weeks nz, covering both north and south island. but as u suggested, probably i need to extand, or cover south island only. still berkira-kira lagi ni, sebab nak susun cuti, budget and all. you tips really helps. btw, i lalu margaret river sebab nak singgah situ on the way balik ke perth from albany. this route took 3.5 + 3 hours macam tu (albany - margaret river - perth). and yes you can take the albany hwy.. bila nak ke perth?
